In keeping with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity’s national initiative to partner with the March of Dimes, the Omicron Delta Sigma Chapter launched Sigma’s Stepping To Save Babies initiative earlier this month. The team consisted of 14 members and while the day was met with stormy weather, 8 brothers of the Omicron Delta Sigma Chapter endured the wet weather to embark upon a successful 2 mile walk, and provided 2.5 hours of service to this worthy cause to prevent premature births and build strong fathers and male role models.
The contribution and dedication of this team is worthy of special praise and recognition as the team raised $ 5,679.00. This achievement more than met the national fraternity’s established chapter goals. This accomplishment was led in part by Brother Tony Owens who raised $2,597.00 and was followed by Ricky Lawrence, who successfully raised $1,004.00, along with many teammates who helped raise this generous amount.
The March of Dimes of Southern Maryland was thrilled by our achievements as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Omicron Delta Sigma Chapter was recognized as the biggest contributor in our area. This grand accomplishment was made possible by dedication and commitment via committed brothers, social media, and physical effort.
It is with great joy I would like to thank all of the brothers of Omicron Delta Sigma Chapter for executing a very successful project that has been recognized by the March of Dimes-Southern Maryland.
